Autumn Term
November
This week, Reception children will be given a travel tracker WOW badge each for the month of October. As a school, we take part in the Living Streets WOW Travel Tracker Challenge. WOW is a pupil-led initiative where children self-report how they get to school every day using our interactive WOW Travel Tracker. If pupils travel sustainably 3 times a week for a month, they are rewarded with a collectable monthly WOW badge. We understand that it may not always possible to walk, scoot, bike or park and stride 3 times a week so children can still be awarded a badge in Reception as they are active throughout the school day.
Park and stride is the most popular way to travel actively. A lot of our families park at the GEC Park on Lower Hillmorton Road, cross the busy road safely with our crossing patrol and walk down the allotment path to school. Some park at Whinfield Park off Clifton Road and use the playground gate.
For more information, please read our letter below.
Thank you.

October
Our reception children have had an exciting visit from Sallie and Warwick Bear from the Warwickshire Road Safety Safe and Active team. With Warwick Bear and Sallie, the children played a game to help them to learn and remember the road safety code. Then Sallie shared Warwick Bear’s very own story book! Everyone listened carefully and even learnt a song to remind us to hold hands when we are out and about, especially by the road. Thank you Sallie and Warwick Bear for giving us our own copy for the classroom.
